Short version: We do not collect personally identifiable information. Your puzzle progress stays on your device, and we collect only the minimal anonymous data needed to process your purchase.

What We Collect

We do not collect personally identifiable information.

The app collects only anonymous, non-personal data:

  • Anonymous app user ID: a randomly generated identifier created on first launch by RevenueCat to manage your one-time purchase. Never linked to your name, email, or a real-world identity.
  • Puzzle progress: which themes and levels you have completed, stored locally on your device.
  • Purchase status: whether the one-time unlock has been purchased, processed by Apple and validated through RevenueCat. This includes an anonymous app user ID, your purchase receipt, and an Apple "identifier for vendor" (IDFV) — none of which are linked to your name or email.

What We Do NOT Collect

  • ✕ Name, email address, or contact information
  • ✕ Location data
  • ✕ Device identifiers tied to your identity
  • ✕ Health or financial data
  • ✕ Browsing history outside the app

Purchases and Payments

Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store — WordSip never sees your payment card or billing details. To unlock what you've bought and handle refunds/restores, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives your purchase receipt, an anonymous app user ID, and the device's Apple "identifier for vendor" (IDFV). Apple's privacy policy applies to all payment transactions.

Audio Pronunciation

The app downloads audio pronunciation files from our servers (Supabase Storage) and caches them on your device for offline use. These audio files are pre-generated and are not personalized to you.

Third-Party Services

  • Supabase: anonymous data storage and audio hosting. Data stored in the United States.
  • Apple App Store: handles purchases and payments.
  • RevenueCat: validates in-app purchases and manages restores and refunds. Receives purchase history, an anonymous app user ID, and the device's IDFV — never your name, email, or payment details.
  • OpenAI: audio pronunciation was generated using OpenAI's text-to-speech API. No user data is sent to OpenAI when you use the app.

Your Rights & Data Retention

Anonymous session data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your anonymous data at any time — email us and we will delete your session data within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

WordSip is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
